PATHOL. ,,Bruit inspiratoire aigu, provoqué notamment par une obstruction incomplète du larynx ou de la trachée`` (Méd. Biol. t. 3 1972). Le gros thymus se manifeste par des signes de compression des organes thoraciques: gêne respiratoire ou dyspnée prédominant à l'inspiration et bruyante (stridor) par compression trachéale; cyanose du visage (QUILLET Méd. 1965, p. 501).
♦ Stridor laryngé. ,,Sifflement provoqué par la constriction des muscles du larynx affectant plus particulièrement le nourrisson ou le nouveau-né`` (Méd. Biol. t. 3 1972).
